Dear Kaia

This week in my EDM310 class we are learning about a project called Comments 4 Kids. This new project allows people and even students to visit other peoples websites or blogs all around the world. You can make a comment about what you found intersting on their page or leave a statement about your views on a pacific topic.
For my blog this week I researched about Mr. Chmberlins class. His class is apart of the project comments 4 Kids. The class was assigned to visit the page of a young girl named Kaia. As the class was doing so her father, Jabiz, saw what they were doing. He responded back and asked the class could they make Kaia a video because Kaia was too young to read and the class did.
I love the fact that technology is getting so advance to the point where it is allowed in schools now to do projects. I believe that in the future schools will have computer classes for students starting with 1st grade. Kaia's father made a statement that parents can be a little nervous about there children being introuduced to the internet at such an early age because of all the negative things on the internet. But if children learn at an early age what they are not allowed to do on the internet the postive will outway the negative.

  1. I agree with you! The earlier children start to learn about technology, the safer it can be, if we teach them the right things! Technology is a great way to interact with other schools and people around the world!

  2. Excellent observations Shaneise! I also agree that we need to introduce technology to children early. The more educated they are about using the technology the harder it will be for someone to scam them. SS

  3. Schools are behind the curve (as usual) with technology. Almost all students carry a cell phone that is more powerful than the computers I used in the 80's in high school. Most of them are capable of accessing and creating data. Of course, schools ban them!
